Workout Playlist #44

1) My Chemical Romance – I’m Not Okay

There are two kinds of people: those who secretly love My Chemical Romance, and liars.

2) Iron Maiden – Run to the Hills

I’ve never heard Bruce Dickinson sound so much like Dio as he does in this song. NOT complaining.

3) Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk

Bruno Mars has been making music for a while now, it’s high time he put out something worth listening to. That’s right – that was a hate-compliment.

4) Matt and Kim – Get It

Matt and Kim spices up their electronic dance music with euphoric choral odes and drum solos.

5) Reel Big Fish – Take On Me

This is a great ska-punk cover of the original, and the singer certainly does a bang-up job hitting those famous high notes.

6) Of Monsters and Men – Crystals

I normally hate this band. I think they’re overly precious and kitschy about their music. But this song has a kind of primal, ancient power behind those drums. Totally worth a listen while you’re rocking it out on the elliptical.

7) Andy Grammer – Honey I’m Good

You could have a total hoedown to this jam.

8) Flobots – Handlebars

This song was a hit for a reason – it really captures the breadth of human achievement, as well as human atrocity.

9) Green River – Hangin’ Tree

I feel that these guys were robbed of their rightful title as the kings of grunge.

10) Footloose

Sorry not sorry.
