Workout Playlist #34 – St. Patrick’s Day Edition!

Bringing you your weekly monthly intermittent workout music fix – this time, peppered with questionably Irish influence! Happy St. Paddy’s day!

1) The Head and the Heart – Shake

The Head and the Heart just recently made their way onto the scene with a terrible band name, but makes up for it with compelling beats and uplifting harmonies.

2) Flogging Molly – Drunken Lullabies

One of the most classic and rousing drinking songs of the 21st century.

3) Bleachers – I Wanna Get Better

Jack Antonoff of Fun. has a side project! This is their only single so far, but it’s making me excited to hear more from them.

4) The Wombats – Your Body is a Weapon

Just FYI, this animated music video is adorable.

5) Gaelic Storm – The Devil Down Below

Is it just me, or is this a completely epic instrumental? Motherlaaaaaaaand!

6) Boxcar Racer – I Feel So

A retreat to the good old days, when spectacularly unattractive people could actually have a great music career.

7) Dropkick Murphys – The Boys Are Back

Did you know the Irish version of the bagpipes is called the uilleann? I would like to buy a vowel.

8) The Story So Far – Empty Space

The Story So Far is a quality soldier in the modern pop-punk army with amazing album art.

9) The Royal Concept – On Our Way

The Royal Concept’s use of synth is incredibly creative and refreshing. This number in particular is peppy as all get out.

10) Awkwafina – My Vag

If you don’t have Awkwafina in your life yet, seriously, treat yoself.

Total playlist time: 34:55
